March 2012 Mission Senegal Newsletter
“Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations.” You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth. Micah 4:13
Dear Family and Friends,
I am so incredibly thankful to have been a part of life in Oussouye for the last five years. My heart is full. I have had an amazing experience building the missionary training program and seeing our first five students emerge, all stronger and equipped. I loved making the training center a welcoming home to all who enter her many doors. I have made eternal friends here in Senegal, too many to count. I am overcome with gratitude for what the Lord has taught me and brought me through. I'm thankful that my life serves God's purposes and that I have been useful to Him. I look forward to ministering where ever I go for the rest of my life.
February has been busy and tumultuous. Part of Pete's training program was to plan a journey somewhere in Senegal and orchestrate all the details. He passed with flying colors bringing us on a fun adventure to the island of Carabane. We spent two extremely quiet days while the nation voted for their next president. We still await final results anticipating a runoff election at the end of March.
My girls created some of the most beautiful tie dye designs on t-shirts donated from a friend of UCF's in Syracuse, NY. I am so excited for what I have seen happening in the lives of the young girls at the church in Oussouye. The group has grown, with young and old we number about 30 now. There is a great deal of training of the youth going on through the church here and the fruit is evident in the lives of these young women. I am happy that they have bonded and grown. Our last girls meeting is March 10th. The women from the church will join us for one last feast, lot's of dancing, teachings and games.
Our return travel to the USA begins on March 18th. We will spend a few days there visiting Ishmael at YWAM and Roger and Betty Diatta. The we fly back to the USA on March 23rd.
I have only a few weeks left of Mission Senegal. I am humbled at your sacrifice to serve this ministry through prayer and financially over the last five years. Thank you for partnering with me to make my vision a reality. May God Bless you Abundantly for all the different ways that you serve. I will be receiving support through June 2012 as I spend the next several months in transition. Support can be sent through UCF, PO Box 35293, Syracuse, NY 13235. Note Kristina Friedrich: Mission Senegal.
